The Great Himalaya Trail is a network of existing treks and trails which together form one of the longest and highest walking trails in the world.
Winding beneath the world’s highest peaks and visiting some of the most remote communities on earth, it passes through lush green valleys, arid high plateaus and incredible landscapes. Nepal’s GHT has10 sections comprising a network of upper and lower routes (see this map of Nepal), each offering you something different, be it adventure and exploration, authentic cultural experiences, or simply spectacular Himalayan nature.

Get Adventurous Experience with Biking & Cycling in Nepal

Mountain biking is a fantastic way to explore Nepal. The allow you to travel independently and stop where ever you want. You do not have to tortuous buses. You can explore secluded places and reach places that can not be visited any other way.
Nepal has many trails to ride on. You can make a challenging climb thousands of metres to reach a viewpoint with fantastic views. Then you make an exhilarating descent. It is an interesting trip ride to Royal Chitwan National Park.
The long bike tours require that you are physical fit. Unless you plan to ride along a trekking route, there is no required paperwork. To do any serious biking you need a mountain bike, and a normal bike will not do.

Namje : in CNN's '12 Best Unheared Places'

The Cable News Network (CNN) enlisted Namje, a Magar village in Dhankuta , eastern Nepal, in the ‘12 best places you’ve never heard of’.The hill top village of Namje is inaccessible by road and one has to take an arduous trek to reach it. This has kept the village largely isolated and only a handful of tourists have visited this village. Stunning views of Mt. Makalu ,the 5th tallest mountain in the world , and the low lying river valleys can be enjoyed from the village.

Visit Lumbini - 2012 (with documentary video)


Prime Minister of Nepal Dr. Baburam Bhattarai formally announced the much-talked-about Visit Lumbini Year -2012 (VLY-2012) from the birthplace of Gautam Buddha on Thursday, inviting the world to work towards creating a peaceful society through Buddha’s peace message.
According to the government statistics, 99,508 tourists (excluding Indians) visited Lumbini in 2010.“I formally declare the year 2012 as Visit Lumbini Year so as to make the birthplace of Buddha a centre of global attraction,” said the prime minister at a programme . Lumbini is one of the country’s 10 sites inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage Site List.
